Midweek Madness and fabric goodness

I received a little fabric goodness in the mail yesterday from a shop at Etsy. The fabric came all the way from Oregon. Last week I had started thinking about Fall and what I might make for myself and my Etsy shop, " A Filled Bobbin." I would like to make some quilted runners for Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas. I purchased a terrific book called, "Pretty in Patchwork" by John Adams, "Quilt Dad" and the book really got my holiday juices going. Now if John Adams lived closer....... Oh well, You get the idea. Anyway, if you get the chance check out the book. I bought used for a great price on Amazon.com

Happy Memorial Day

A special Thank You to all those Men and Women in the Military, past and present, that have made my freedom possible. Today we honor YOU!

I have not gotten a lot done in the sewing/quilting arena  these past two weekends, but I've made progress. Today I got up with a mission in mind called, " Mission Beat the Heat". I went to Home Depot and found a great deal on Summer Outdoor blinds, bought three windows worth and together with my sweet girl, hung them. Had all the neighbors watching and talking. One even had the nerve to call on the phone. LOL.

Happy Mother Day

I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day. I sure did. I BBQ steaks and chicken early in the morning and baked a Dump Cake, using fresh berries. My mother came at 1:00 P.M. , Michele make a terrific salad, and we munched and watched movies inside the house in the air con. It was a hot one at least 100 degrees.

Garden is doing quite well. I've got some Cucumbers growing, hot peppers and lot's of tomatoes. Sunflower's are starting to peak thru the soil and I hope to make some wonderful Sunflower seeds in September.

I did get some sewing done, right before my girl became ill. LOL! Happy Mother's Day, mom!
