My basketball Star, Michele

Sewing area

Yes, my sewing area is in the kitchen. When we moved into this cute little house in December, my hubby opted for a sewing area rather than a dining area. He even purchased the TV trays. Gotta love a man understands priorities. Now when he needs a sandwich, he just comes to the sewing studio and asks for one.

Sewing studios

Since I've been off for the summer, my daily routine has been to sleep in, get up around 9:30 A.M., drink 3 diet cokes, read my email, read some quilting blogs and sew for at least six hours. I have been quite the quilty girl. Some of the blogs I read have been showing off their studios. Grand rooms filled with the most recent fabric lines, bolts of fabric stacked upon each other and completely organized tools and cutting mats. So in keeping current with this trend, I thought I would show you mine. Above is my cutting area/

Kinda 4th of July Star quilt

I have been on a true sewing binge. I subscribe  to, "Cluck Cluck Sew" Blog. Recently she showed her 4th of July quilt. It is so pretty and I knew when I saw it,  I had to have one of my own. So 48 blocks later, I'm at the trimming stage.

Baby Tumbler Quilt

June 1, 2012

I'm counting down the days until school is out. It's been an eye opening school year. 15 Calendar days
to go and blast off to the beach. I'm still working on my Lemon Bar quilt but got side tracked by an order for a baby quilt request. Tomatoes are growing like crazy and my cukes are on their way.

Monday May 15,2012

Came home from school yesterday and stepped out my kitchen door to check on the garden. Much to my surprise, my sweet peas (two) had blossomed. This really gives me a happy heart.

Sweet Peas and Marigolds

Mothers day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day. I finished my blocks for my Lemon Bars Quilt. Now all I have to do is trim and put them together. They sure are pretty and are colors I normally don't use, except orange. I just LOVE orange!
